Online sub editor, Arabianindustry.com

ITP Publishing Group has a vacancy for an online sub-editor, for its business website ArabianIndustry.com.

The site is fed hundreds of stories every day, from the wide selection of specialist B2B websites in the ITP Business digital portfolio. These cover everything from IT, broadcast and tech issues, to heavy industry, construction, design and hospitality.

Essential to the core of the role is the ability to rework headlines and story openers at a fast pace.

Applicants must be comfortable handling large volumes of work to a rigorous weekly schedule. This schedule currently includes 12 newsletters a week, daily picture gallery updates, special reports, country specific content and an endless stream of news.

The role requires a native English speaker, with a natural talent for subbing, sharp writing skills and an ability to get to grips with the technical aspects of website management. An eye for a good picture would be a bonus.

Candidates will need a persistent and professional approach to content management. An understanding of social media and the importance of promoting a story correctly will be a distinct advantage in achieving traffic targets.

The best people for the job will also be able to generate plenty of their own online feature ideas, utilising the huge selection of content available on the site.

Newsletter demands mean the role requires an early start to the day, so office hours would be 08:00-17:00, or 07:00-16:00.

This role will include generating mini-campaigns to promote products, events, supplements, special projects and features to clients; planning and executing media plans across ITP Business’s own titles as well as driving the expansion of exhibitions both locally and regionally.

The successful candidate will be a self starter, have excellent project management and organisational skills with strong written and verbal skills.  The ability to multi-task effectively, have a proactive approach to tasks and foster good working relationships is essential together with clear problem solving capabilities.

The candidate must be available to travel regionally when required.

The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level, with strong preference for a marketing degree.  A minimum of three years experience is required working in a marketing role preferably within a publishing/media company in the Middle East. Copywriting experience would also be an advantage.
