GCC countries are investing heavily in the construction of new water and power plants to support the needs of their growing populations. ITP Business is looking for an editor for Utilities Middle East, its B2B title for the region’s power & water generation and distribution professionals. We are looking for a Group Editor to work with and oversee a dedicated English / Arabic team, planning, researching and writing Etihad Inflight, Aspire and E Box along with other projects for Etihad. The responsibilities of the group editor will be writing a broad range of articles, commissioning features, idea generation, issue planning, sub-editing, budget management (commissioning and travel) and planning, regular liaising with and close co-operation with Etihad Airways. Sharp subbing skills and the ability to analyse information are essential for a journalist having to intelligently and accurately edit a high volume of stories each day. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how these skills have been perfected through several years of experience in a web, wire or daily news environment.

Excellent communication and organisation skills are a must for a job at the hub of a dynamic news team. The successful candidate will be working with dozens of reporters each day so the ability to spot and develop breaking news and a cool head under pressure are essential. Event Producer - London Office

ITP Promedia is looking for a event producer to take charge of a growing portfolio that includes the launch of a watch exhibition, spectacular parties and glittering awards ceremonies. The position would suit a short term contract worker or somebody looking for a full time position.

Senior Web Developer

ITP Digital is the electronic digital media arm of ITP Publishing, the region's largest publisher of technology, B2B and consumer publications. We’re looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our fast-paced team as a Senior Web Developer.

Responsibilities
• Hands on coding of back end and middle tier application layers for high traffic consumer facing websites.
• Develop new technologies as well as supporting existing web applications.
• Plan, research and develop logic, code and unit test web projects with minimal assistance.
• Implement solutions for both short-term, rapid fire tasks on a high volume production basis as a single developer as well as long term multi-month projects working as part of the team.
• Analyze information from use cases, business requirements documentation, subject matter experts, and other developers to help define, design, and implement world class web solutions.
• Mentor less senior developers and help project manage select large initiatives.
• Improve application performance and software quality.
• Estimate development tasks and deliver projects on schedule.

Skills
• 3+ years strong programming experience with at least two languages like Python, PHP, Java, C++, C# and Ruby.
• Experience accessing and using both public and private APIs with any of the languages above.
• Experience working with MVC frameworks such as Django, Rails and Kohana.
• Experience in using code management tools like Git and SVN.
• Extensive understanding of relational databases is essential, preferably using MySQL.
• Knowledge of NoSQL concepts is desirable.
• Experience with back-end development including consuming XML feeds and SOAP and RESTful web services.
• Strong demonstrated experience with Web 2.0 technologies including XML, JavaScript and jQuery or similar library.
• Understanding of usability, user-centred design and web standards.
• Understanding of caching concepts and experience with Memcache and Varnish is beneficial.
• Familiarity with e-commerce concepts and challenges a plus.
• Experience in social and mobile app development an added bonus.
