The Arabian Business eAchievement Awards, hosted by Dubai Internet City and Dubai World Trade Centre, recognised and honoured eight winners from around the Middle Easts business and technology community for their outstanding contributions to the IT industry. Speaking to the 800 plus audience of key industry figures, Byat said: It is an honour for me to be here this evening to help announce the 2002 Arabian Business eAchievement Awards. It is an even greater honour that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has graciously agreed to present the awards to some of the most distinguished and successful leaders and entrepreneurs from throughout the Middle East. There is no better place to celebrate the achievement of the E-economy than here in the grounds of Dubai Internet City, created by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed. There is no better time to celebrate those achievements than during Gitex, which has grown to become one of the worlds great IT expos under the watchful eye of Sheikh Mohammed, and it is entirely appropriate that the Awards should be given by Arabian Business magazine. A total of eight achievers were recognised and celebrated at the gala dinner ceremony, and were presented with their awards by Sheikh Mohammed and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone.
