Awards Criteria

The following criteria have been devised by the Judging Committee to decide who should receive the award.

eEntrepreneur
The eEntepreneur of the Year Award will be presented to an individual who has built or financed building an Internet based business with focus on the following most important factors:
1. Originality of the idea
2. Service to the community
3. Sustainable Business Model
4. Success in managing the business

eInitiative
The eInitiative of the Year Award will be presented to an individual (or individuals) responsible for developing and implementing an innovative idea or concept for business or government that has significantly enhanced the "modus operandi" of the organisation and its relationship with clients, other organisations or departments.

eBusinessman
The eBusinessman of the Year Award will be presented to an individual who as CEO of a (bricks and mortar) trading company has taken significant initiatives in transforming their business by using technology to streamline and improve their business processes and to increase and reach their clients and suppliers through the Internet.

eVisionary
The E-Visionary Award will be presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the "e-volutionisation" of the Middle East's public or private sector. Individuals who embrace e-technology to improve their work processes deserve to be recognised and encouraged to continue sharing their innovative and enterprising ideas, and this Award is intended to do just that.

Whether it is in the field of business administration, education, manufacturing, the retail sector or any other sphere, every step towards expanding accessibility through the Internet is worthy of consideration. This Award will recognise the efforts on one such individual, whose ideas and work in the e-realm have had, or will have, a significant impact on the way we conduct our activities and interactions in the future.

Young eAchiever
No criteria was set for this Award other than that the winner should be under 25 years of age on October 17th 2002.
