Content Manager (Social Media, Video & Digital) - Harper’s Bazaar

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Content Manager to drive, manage and lead the online and social media presentation of the key and secondary Harper’s Bazaar brands (five in total) plus Best Dressed special edition, across web for desktop and mobile platforms, also working in collaboration with Marketing and Editorial.

Key responsibilities: 

  • To work closely with the teams across the entire Bazaar brand portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to, ART, Interiors, Junior, Bride and Best Dressed, as well as events and marketing, to ensure that each is being presented to its full digital potential, and leading them into thinking about digital representation at every editorial, marketing and commercial opportunity. 
  • To develop a digital content strategy and calendar with a schedule and guidelines that everyone is working to. 
  • Knowledge of social media scheduling systems.
  • Ability to create and execute social media campaigns across all platforms.
  • To manage the workload and upload process of on a daily basis, and its relevant social media platforms (currently 12 separate accounts across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest)
  • Help source and manage freelance media specialists for key digital projects such as Bazaar TV.
  • To oversee and create bespoke regional online content for all platforms.
  • Confidence to take the initiative and work with a small team and be prepared to work long hours to reach tight editorial and commercial deadlines when needed.
  • A fair knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is a must.
  • Video editing knowledge would be preferable.
  • To respect the editorial integrity and international guidelines of the brands when producing online content.
  • To understand and work within the commercial realities of publishing in the Middle East and the pressures of the current climate.
  • To work closely with Hearst Media International HQ in NYC, and leverage on the resource and team in place, as well as working in line with their international brand guidelines, and managing necessary approvals on local content from international Hearst offices, e.g. cover stories for web.
  • Multiple languages (English & Arabic) desirable.

Desired profile: 
The type of candidate who will be successful in this role is someone who understands media as a whole, but is specifically experienced in digital launches and must have a minimum of two years' experience at a Content Manager level on a product, title or brand focussed on women’s luxury lifestyle or fashion. Crucially, they must be flexible and have a can-do, positive attitude which shows they are respectful, responsible and dedicated, and by default demonstrate passion, brand understanding and leadership.

Additional information: 

Reporting to the Digital Content Director, the Content Manager will manage a daily upload system that encompasses marketing collateral (newsletters, events and commercial competitions) plus any freelance image/video support required for specific projects or busy periods. Candidates should appreciate that the role is office based at ITP’s Dubai Media City office, however travel on key projects may be required. Official hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm however out of hours work is expected on occasion, making up for quieter periods. We offer a competitive salary and an opportunity to work on one of the region’s most dynamic brands. Video Editor

We are looking for a talented video editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting.

Ultimately, as a film and video editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.

•    Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
•    Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
•    Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity

The Middle East’s best-selling home magazine Emirates Home is looking for a new editor. 

The ideal candidate must have a strong eye for the best international and local homes, their owners, their design and their latest trends. He/She must be as familiar with the latest trade shows from Milan Furniture Fairs to Decorex London, and fully versed on the local market – include a knowledge of interior designers, local artists and bespoke craftsmen.

The new editor must have at least 3 years editing experience, be an excellent copy editor and able to use In-Design. They must also have a keen interest in social media platforms, and be able to grow the brand beyond the publication, through digital initiatives, events, awards and conferences.

Marketing Executive

ITP Business publishes business-to-business content in print and online. Its magazines and websites are complemented by a portfolio of awards programmes, events and conferences.

The marketing department is responsible for showcasing the industry titles to their core target markets. This includes maintaining a presence at key regional trade shows and organising awards ceremonies and social events for each industry sector. They also play a key support role in the efforts of the sales and editorial teams.

The Position
The marketing executive’s primary responsibilities are to support the commercial side of the business in its quest for new business and position ITP’s products effectively to target audiences through detailed marketing campaigns. Tasks will include the following:

-    Generating sales letters and mini-campaigns to promote products, events, supplements, special projects and features to clients
-    Negotiating barter agreements and coordinating our presence at key trade shows
-    Assisting in the operations activities at ITP awards and bespoke events
-    Ensuring media packs and other marketing materials are written and up-to-date
-    Planning and executing media plans across ITP Business’s own titles to drive advertiser interest

The marketing executive will be required to ensure sales teams have the necessary collateral and support to maximise sales opportunities from exhibitors and visitors during each show and coordinate marketing activities to target advertisers. 

Other tasks the marketing executive will be expected to carry out include the marketing of other ITP products such as applications, magazine subscriptions, and event publications, working with the director of awards & marketing to manage monthly budgets, and contributing to marketing brainstorming and planning sessions, among others.

Core tasks
•    Work closely with sales teams and coordinate marketing campaigns with their input 
•    Create content for media packs and other marketing collateral including ads and banners to support sales team products and initiatives
•    Work effectively with design department to ensure marketing collateral is designed and updated within expected schedules
•    Plan ahead to ensure marketing campaigns are carried out to schedule, taking a holistic view on ITP Business’ portfolio of products and projects
•    Forge relationships with exhibition organisers to aide barter negotiations with key trade shows
•    Source the best possible suppliers and coordinate with them to ensure smooth operations for ITP awards and trade show presences 
•    Write marketing plans for each group of titles, identifying opportunities for growing awareness and standing amongst potential advertisers
•    Ensure the accuracy of all facts, figures and names in marketing collateral such as ads and media packs
•    Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments 
•    Set an example with your enthusiasm, personal conduct and approach to solving problems

Qualifications & Experience
The candidate should be educated up to A level (or equivalent), with higher education in a marketing field an advantage. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a marketing role in the Middle East is preferable. Copywriting experience would also be an advantage.
